While I have a name spelled in a conventional fashion, I always wanted to be named something else because everyone my age was named Jennifer. I think this means that a lot of people are unhappy with their name. You know the grass is always greener. Though, I must say that I literaly laughed out loud at Mickey’s comment.

I feel your pain Diana (did that on purpose). As many people know, my daughter’s name is Zoe, but I wanted to spell it “Zoughie”, my wife quickly vetoed that idea.

I was also tortured by a short-sighted naming judgment on my parents part, not just me, but also my older brother.

I was named Mickey, after Mickey Mantle, and my brother (5-years my elder) was named Donald after one of our uncles.

Mickey and Donald, mom and dad?? You’ve got to be kidding me!

With all due respect, Diana (again, did that on purpose) I don’t really feel too bad for you about your name.

Just curious, what’s your middle name?
