My mood as of recent has been a mix of envious, blah and extreme gratefulness. All because I had to say goodbye to yet another friend this weekend. I’m trying to take it all in stride because I know that in addition to friends’ couches on the east and west coasts, I now have another couch to crash on should I find myself in the Midwest.

So although I’m feeling all of the aforementioned, I’m still grateful because I think I’ve been blessed with some pretty awesome girlfriends.  The kind of girlfriends that:

• Will convince you that the guy you just broke up with had serial killer character traits and wasn’t long-term material anyway.

• Are the extreme opposite of you so much so that you swear they’re just a pretty girl with the mind of a boy. Thus eliminating the need to ask a guy’s opinion because you have them.

• Will get up at the crack of dawn to go shopping on Black Friday, in the snow, at Wal-Mart and maintain their cheeriness.

• Will surprise you with a coffee or breakfast burrito just ’cause.

• Shower you with compliments when you’re wearing a super cute outfit, and yet not be afraid to tell you when you’re looking not so super cute.

Best of all, girlfriends keep up with you by staying faithful to reading your blogs that rant about burritos and the dumb things boys say.
